Why is it important to remove makeup before going to bed?

If you wear makeup every day, you've probably gone to bed with it still your face at least once. You may have been too tired to take it off or simply forgotten you had it on, but it's happened to most women at one point or another. To understand why it's so important to remove your makeup before going to bed, you must understand your skin and how it works. The skin on our faces is covered in pores that secrete sebum, which is a waxy lubricant that helps to moisturize and protect our skin.
